Interpreters are unfamiliar working with school psychologists who are Deaf.  During professional meetings with colleagues, ESER proceedings and IEP meeting interpreters are often not prepared to interpret the proceedings.  This training will provide knowledge of psychological terms used as well as prepare interpreters to have a general understanding of assessment tools and results from the Evaluation Summary and Eligibility Report (ESER).  The knowledge applies to K - 12 educational setting as well as community mental health.

About us

Alaska Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf strives to improve the interpreting community by offering numerous training opportunities and in-depth community involvement to better support Alaskan interpreters.
