Case Conferencing Forum:
Let's Talk About Our Work
Moderated by: Anne Dawson

Case conferencing forums are a wonderful opportunity for interpreters to meet to discuss their work. In the past interpreters have gathered together informally for this purpose. Often we have come away with less than wonderful results and no ‘tools in our pocket’ should the discussed problem arise again.

In this interactive forum, we will employ Demand Control Schema, a practice profession approach to interpreting for the purpose of work improvement, problem solving and maintenance of ethical behavior.

Structured case presentation identifying types of demands, discussing controls to employ and peer analysis will demonstrate an important process of reflective learning opportunity that working professionals can utilize throughout their career. This process does not place analysis of the work in an abstracted hypothetical form, but in the tangible and practical experiences of our daily work.

Please contact Anne Dawson dawson@asdawson.com if you would like to bring in your own case for discussion under the guidance of peer supervisors.
